1 Bn RHC
Pipes & Drums
NETHERLANDS 2023
01-13 May 2023
BACKGROUND
The objective of 1 RHC Pipes & Drums is to recreate and honour the original members of the 1st Battalion Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment of Canada Pipes and Drums.
While doing so it will also honour the troops who helped Liberated the Netherlands and commemorate those whom are buried, or whose names are on memorials located within the Netherlands.
The specific time frame was chosen as it also coincides with two National Holidays, Remembrance of the Dead (04 May Dodenherdenking) and Liberation Day (05 May Bevrijdingsdag). This will enable 1 RHC P&D to participate in National events held in the City of Bergen op Zoom to commemorate the War dead.
